I'M Determined

The I’m Determined project, a state-directed project funded by the Virginia Department of Education, focuses on providing direct instruction, models, and opportunities to practice skills associated with self-determined behavior. This project facilitates youth, especially those with disabilities to undertake a measure of control in their lives, helping to set and steer the course rather than remaining the silent passenger.

Each year, in June, the I'm Determined Project facilitates the I'm Determined Youth and Family Summit. The Center for Family Involvement works alongside the I'm Determined project to host the Family Summit portion of the annual event. Family members play an important role in the student's success, no matter their age. Additionally, a representative from the Center for Family Involvement serves as the Family Specialist on the I'm Determined state team.
